Imran's Institute of Allied Health Sciences (IIAHS) is an institute established by Imhop Healthcare Pvt Ltd and is run by a leading eye hospital in Malabar namely the 'Imran's Eye Hospital' based at Chemmad of Malappuram district, Kerala. Imran's Eye Hospital has proved its credentials in the field of eye care, surgery and treatment. Mr Abdul Latheef Melarakkal is the chairman and managing director of Imhop Healthcare Pvt Ltd. The chairman himself is an optometrist who has a clear vision in promoting the field of Optometry.

Role of an optometrist

                                                          Optometrists provide primary vision care. They determine whether vision correction is needed and if it is they prescribe eyeglasses or contact lenses.

Why Optometry ?

                                                                      B.Sc Optometry is a degree course offered by Imran’s Institute of Allied Health Sciences. Optometry is a health care profession which deals with the examination, diagnosis and management of diseases and disorders of the visual system. It is a vision care science. It can also be termed as a science of eye equipments (consisting spectacles, lens etc) which is infused with the scheme of improving or enhancing the vision of the human eye and remove all kinds of obstacles of sight which an individual may experience. This is a dynamic and challenging career which not only helps people to walk from darkness to light but also attain personal growth, community respect, job flexibility and financial success and offers virtually unlimited opportunities. 

The Optometry course  is envisaged to develop a multipurpose ophthalmic manpower at paramedical level. The training will enable a student to become a competent person in providing service as an Optician, Optometrist, Refractionist and Ophthalmic Assistant to the community in urban, semi-urban and rural settings in all sectors concerned with vision care.
